The Missing Beauty (His Modern Love).

The Prince is dumbfounded. He's been spending minutes and hours of his days contemplating on why did the girl left in such a hurry last night. Was his dancing really that bad? Or was it his bad breath? They just met, the reason should not be too abstract than that, he would think. Still, nothing seems to make sense.

But nonetheless, he was left with a piece of a glass slipper to ponder on how to look for his midnight venus.

One day, he had an idea to reward the girl or anyone with the information of the girl. The news of the reward spreads all over his father ruling land. The paper boy would shout;

"Extra, extra! Hefty rewards for the Prince's missing beauty! Rewards for missing beauty!"

The posters would spread around but the girl was nowhere to be found.

Days passes by and the Prince's grasp of his lover grows weary, but he never let go. The image of her deepened imprinted in his brain.

It came to the prince one day on a day when the seafarers set ashore, he heard a song sung from a radio which belongs to a fine sailorman. He bought the boombox for a bargain because the sailor tought that the song is annoying but felt that it would worth something to a parrot's ear.

Starting from that day on, the Prince would hold on the boombox before every house in the land to call out for his one and only;

Don't get offended
If I seem absent minded
Just keep telling me facts
And keep making me smile
Don't get offended
If I seem absent minded
I get tongue-tied
Baby, you've got to be more discerning
I've never known what's good for me
Baby, you've got to be more demanding
I will be yours

I'll pay for you anytime

What are you holding out for?
What's always in the way?
Why so damn absent-minded?
Why so scared of romance?

This modern love breaks me
This modern love wastes me

For days and weeks, but she never answers. "Where are you." He would whisper.

Do you wanna come over and kill some time?
Tell me facts, tell me facts, tell me facts
Tell me facts
Throw your arms around me.

"Where the fuck are you."
